A Future for Our Animals and Community
Thousands of innocent animals in our community find themselves homeless through no fault of their own. Some need emergency, lifesaving treatment while others simply need a safe shelter, food and water. They all long for a second chance to find a loving home and Grand Strand Humane Society has been that safe haven for 50 years.
The primary focus of our new shelter will be to create a happy and healthy temporary residence for the nearly 3000 animals who come through our doors each year. They come to us from within the city limits of Myrtle Beach either as strays found on the streets by our animal control officers or by Good Samaritans keeping them safe from harm. We also take in animals surrendered by their owners for a variety of reasons. Whatever the reason, Grand Strand Humane Society continues to stay true to who we are as an organization and what we stand for.
As the Myrtle Beach area continues to grow so must Grand Strand Humane Society. We endeavor to be an asset to our community that everyone can be proud of. We will never give up on any animal that comes through our door and will always be a safe-haven for the animals that deserve a bright, airy welcoming facility to make their transition from homeless to forever homes. Our staff, volunteers and foster parents treat each animal as they would their own giving them love, time, patience, trust and understanding.
