For the first time in since 1972, there will be a new animal shelter to serve the Myrtle Beach area, its residents and its pets.

We are excited to offer a variety of Naming Opportunities at our new shelter that will leave a lasting legacy for those that wish to take advantage of them. As the planning and building process progresses we will be adding some unique naming opportunities to this list.

Each opportunity will come with a highly visible and beautiful acknowledgment of your generosity. We will also offer donors taking advantage of a naming opportunity, the chance to work with our team to custom design your plaque or sign which could be done in your favorite color or in honor or memory of a favorite pet or loved one. If you don’t find a naming opportunity within the gift amount you have in mind please reach out to us and we will be happy to work with you on other naming opportunity ideas. We also welcome multiple donors for individual naming opportunities if 2 or more families, individuals or businesses would like to be recognized together in one area.

As our grand opening gets closer we will begin to offer unique experiences for the donors taking advantage of the Naming Opportunities allowing them to get an up close and personal advanced tour of our new shelter. We want the collaboration between our team and our special donors to continue throughout the process until the ribbon cutting.

Veterinary Clinic Our updated and expanded Veterinary Clinic will provide care to over 21,000 public & shelter pets every year. A gift to name this vital service to our community is one that carries a legacy beyond the monetary value.		$1,750,000
Adoption Center We estimate that over 10,000 visitors will walk through our doors to the adoption center each year. Prominent signage out front at the new Grand Strand Humane Society building will be there to welcome them under the name of a generous donor. This naming gift will be included in all correspondence, website and social media mentions for the life of this shelter.		$1,500,000
Cat Cafe Our new Cat Cafe will be the only one in Horry County and located at the front of the our new facility. This new area will give our cats time outside of their normal living areas for enrichment and more exercise. Signage for this gift will be included on the exterior of the Cat Cafe. This gift will also be included in our website and social media mentions.		$500,000
Pooch Pavilion There will be 5 areas of dog housing including kennels & dog runs, just beyond our Adoption Center. The entire area housing all of our dogs is considered the Pooch Pavilion. Each hallway will house 17-22 dogs each. We will provide signage on the entry of the entire Pooch Pavilion indicating this generous naming gift.		$500,000 ADOPTED
Welcome Plaza Near our Adoption Center entrance, there will be a comfortable and beautifully landscaped outdoor space providing additional seating for the Cat Cafe and a waiting area for volunteers, adopters and more. This will be a central meeting or resting place for many visitors to GSHS.		$300,000 ADOPTED
Event Pavilion & Community Room The Event Pavilion and Community Room will offer areas for a variety of meetings, events and celebrations to take place. GSHS will use this area for community educational programs for all ages as well as volunteer orientations, classes, board meetings and special events. It will also be available to local groups to host their own meetings and get-togethers for a reasonable rental fee. The Event Pavilion will be available to host celebrations such as birthday parties for a nominal fee. The areas can be combined to accommodate larger group meetings or celebrations. These areas will be widely used and seen by many volunteers and residents.		$250,000 ADOPTED
Kitty City Condo (Adoptable Cat Suites) The Kitty City Condo entrance is visible immediately when entering the lobby of the main adoption center. This naming opportunity will support thousands of cats who look for homes each year. Personalized signage will be provided upon entry to the Kitty City Condo area.		$125,000
Paw Patrol Perimeter Fencing This is one of those items on our check-list that is one of the most important as it will keep all of our animals safe and secure in the unlikely and rare event that one gets loose. This could be one of our animals or a public pet that is visiting our veterinary clinic. This fencing gives our staff, volunteers, visitors and neighbors peace of mind that all animals will remain safe inside until we are able to bring it back to us safely.		$100,000
Real Home Dog of the Week Suite This suite will house a featured dog each week looking for a forever home in a real home setting. The featured dog can be seen as everyone enters our Adoption Center and he/she will be set up in an area which looks similar to a normal home environment in the hopes that a potential adopter will envision this new family member in their own home. The suite will also be next to our Retail Center giving the dog even more visibility. This is a great opportunity for a local business to expand their advertising.		$100,000 (located in shelter lobby)
Free Roam Cat Rooms & Attached Catios These seven (7) rooms will be used to allow groups of cats to interact in a more real home setting. Large picture windows will let adopters view the kitties as they play, explore and nap while they wait for their new homes. Each room will also open up to a safe, outdoor, attached Catio enclosure (weather permitting) to allow our kitties to experience, fresh air, sunshine and the sights and sounds surrounding the shelter. Potential adopters will be able to spend some time with the cats in these free-roam rooms. All donors will be recognized by personal signage outside each room.		$50,000 (6 remaining opportunities)
Memorial Serenity Garden This will be an area provided for our animals that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge and for the public to be able to spend time to reflect on their own animals that have passed on.  We are planning a serene environment with a water feature and a respectful final resting place for those that we miss so much.		$40,000 ADOPTED
Retail Center As you enter the Adoption Center Lobby, our expanded Retail Center will be front and center to greet you with lots of new items available for sale. This center will play a vital role in our continuing fundraising efforts as we plan to offer a fun and exciting variety of items to remind our visitors of their time at Grand Strand Humane Society.		$30,000 (located in shelter lobby)-ADOPTED
Walking Trails Volunteers and staff will be able to walk all of the dogs from Grand Strand Humane Society on the walking trails located throughout our property. There will be 2-3 trails with signage along the way to show the generosity of our donors that have chosen this sponsorship.		$20,000 (2-3 opportunities with landscaping & signage)
Small Animal Room While we don’t get a lot of small furry animals and pets looking for a new home, some do find their way to us and we want to be ready when they do. We haven’t always had the most ideal area and set up for pets such as rabbits, hamsters, guiena pigs & gerbils to be housed but in our new facility they will have their very own space designed to make their lives as comfortable as possible. This room will be located near our Cat Adoption area making it very visible and easier for them for them to find their new forever homes.		$20,000
Employee Break Room After having gone several years without a proper area for our incredibly hard-working staff to rest, relax, renourish and recharge we want to make sure they have their own dedicated space for when they need a break. This area will be designed for comfort and functionality. It will include comfortable furniture, a small kitchenette with a microwave and refrigerator and storage for their personal items. This may be one of the most appreciated areas of our new shelter for our employees.		$20,000
Outdoor Small Dog/ Puppy Play Yard This will be a dedicated area with specialized turf and plumbing allowing our small dogs, and especially puppies, to have some outdoor playtime outside of their kennels and away from the larger dogs. This is a very important and necessary area for these little ones. They will learn socialization skills and work off the energy that puppies seem to have an abundance of. This area will also allow potential adopters to spend some time with the smaller dogs and puppies getting to know them.		$15,000
Cat & Kitten Matchmaking Room/ Adoption Room This will be an area for potential adopters to meet and interact with the cat, cats, kitten or kittens they are hoping to adopt and spend some time getting to know them. This one-on-one time is a very important step in the adoption process to make sure that the new cat or kitten the adopters have in mind is the right fit for their home and lifestyle.		$10,000
Dog & Puppy Matchmaking Room/ Adoption Room This will be an area for potential adopters to meet and interact with the dog or puppy they are hoping to adopt and spend some time getting to know them. This one-on-one time is a very important step in the adoption process to make sure that the new family member the adopters have in mind is the right fit for their home and lifestyle.		$10,000 ADOPTED
Adult Dog Playgrounds These areas will allow our staff and volunteers the opportunity to let our dogs run off leash on an individual basis and in supervised playgroups. These areas will also be used to introduce families and their current pets to prospective new 4-legged family members. The value of having multiple playgrounds provides enrichment and exercise our dogs need and is also an invaluable tool to give more dogs the opportunity to become more socialized, well adjusted and ready for their new home.		$10,000 each (4-5 opportunities)  1- ADOPTED
Personalized Benches Scattered throughout the entire property and especially along our walking trails and in our Serenity Garden, will be comfortable seating in the form of benches dedicated to honor or memorialize people or pets. Each bench can be personalized to remember a past pet or family member or an entire family. We will work with each donor to make it special and unique to them.		$5,000 each (multiple opportunities)
Engraved Bricks & Paver Stones We are planning an outdoor space located near the front of the adoption center commemorating loved ones that donors wish to honor with a personalized engraved brick or paver stone.		$500 each
