Just beyond our Adoption Center, the Pooch Pavilion will have five distinct areas/hallways dedicated to dog housing, including kennels and dog runs. Each hallway within the Pooch Pavilion will accommodate between 17 and 22 dogs, providing them with comfortable, secure, and well-organized spaces. 

This beautiful pond, complete with a peaceful fountain and walking trail, offers a serene retreat for visitors, volunteers, and shelter pets alike. 

Our new Cat Cafe & Lounge will be the first and only of its kind in Horry County—an inviting space located at the front entrance of our new facility, designed to enrich the lives of both cats and visitors, both local and tourists.

This thoughtfully designed lounge will allow our cats time outside of their regular living spaces for exercise, stimulation, and social interaction. Guests can enjoy refreshments available for purchase while relaxing and giving our adoptable kitties the love and attention they deserve.

A unique signage opportunity is available inside the Cat Cafe to recognize this special gift. The donor will also be celebrated on our website and social media platforms, honoring their role in creating a space where connection and comfort come together—for both people and pets.

Located near the entrance to our Adoption Center, the Welcome Plaza will be a beautifully landscaped outdoor area designed for comfort and connection.  More than just a resting spot, the GSHS welcome sign will serve as a central meeting point and a warm introduction to our facility. The Event Pavilion and Community Room will serve as vibrant, multi-purpose spaces designed to host a wide range of gatherings, meetings, educational & training programs and celebrations. In addition, the Event Pavilion & Community Room will be available for local groups to rent at a reasonable fee, providing a welcoming venue for their own meetings.

Dog of the Week Suites will spotlight one adoptable dog each week—offering them a chance to shine in a space designed to look and feel like a real home.

This special room is dedicated to helping our more timid or undersocialized cats prepare for the loving homes they deserve. Here, our dedicated volunteers will provide the extra time, patience, and TLC these cats need to come out of their shells and build trust again.

These inviting rooms are designed to give groups of cats the opportunity to play, explore, and relax in a comfortable, home-like environment. With cozy furnishings and space to roam, these rooms help showcase each cat’s personality outside of a cage—making it easier for potential adopters to form meaningful connections.

Large picture windows will allow visitors to watch as the cats nap, play, and interact with one another, while adopters will also have the chance to step inside, spend time with them, and find their perfect match.

Each donor will be honored with personalized signage outside the room, celebrating their commitment to providing a more natural, enriching experience for our feline residents on their journey to forever homes.

These specially designed kennels will be located just outside the main entrance to our main adoptable dog kennel area. They will showcase puppies and smaller dogs who are looking for their forever homes. This dedicated space will give them a quieter environment away from the hustle and bustle of the larger dogs, while also placing them adjacent to the Outdoor Small Dog/Puppy Play Yard—an ideal spot for potential adopters to spend quality time getting to know them.

The Memorial Garden will be a dedicated space to honor and remember the beloved animals who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. This serene and beautifully designed area will provide a peaceful setting for both GSHS staff and the public to reflect on the lives and memories of cherished pets who are no longer with us.

Our expanded Retail Center, will be prominently located as you enter the Adoption Center Lobby. This vibrant space will feature a fun and thoughtfully curated selection of items, from GSHS branded merchandise, pet essentials, unique gifts and keepsakes that serve as lasting reminders of your time at Grand Strand Humane Society.

These cozy rooms offer a home-like environment for a small groups of cats to interact, play, and relax together while they await their forever homes. 

Our beautifully landscaped walking trails will offer a peaceful, enriching space for volunteers and staff to walk every dog in our care—providing essential exercise, socialization, and moments of joy as they await their forever homes.

These scenic trails will wind throughout our property, each thoughtfully designed with landscaping and seating areas for rest and reflection. Along the way, prominent signage will honor the generous donors who make these trails possible—ensuring lasting recognition in a space that brings comfort and happiness to both people and pets.

Sponsoring a walking trail is a unique way to support the well-being of our dogs while leaving a visible, lasting mark on our campus.

After years without a dedicated space for our incredibly hardworking staff to rest, relax, and recharge, we are excited to create a comfortable and functional lounge offering a peaceful retreat where staff can take well-deserved breaks and renew their energy.

This specially designed outdoor play area features specialized turf and plumbing, creating a safe and clean space where our small dogs and puppies can enjoy supervised playtime away from their kennels—and separate from larger dogs.

Although small furry pets like rabbits, hamsters and guinea pigs aren’t our most frequent residents, many do find their way to us—and we want to be fully prepared to give them the best possible care.

In our new facility, these special pets will have their own dedicated space designed specifically for their comfort and well-being. Thoughtfully located near our Cat Adoption area, this suite will offer increased visibility to visitors, making it easier for these small companions to find their forever homes.

These dedicated rooms provide a private, comfortable space for potential adopters to spend one-on-one time with the dog or puppy they hope to welcome into their family.

Our Adult Dog Playgrounds will offer safe, enclosed spaces where dogs can run, play, and socialize—off leash and under supervision. These areas will be used by staff and volunteers to provide individual exercise time as well as organized, supervised playgroups that support each dog’s physical and emotional well-being.

Scattered throughout our beautiful property—including along walking trails, at the front entrance, and within our peaceful Serenity Garden—comfortable benches will offer visitors a place to rest, reflect, and connect.

Each bench can be personalized to honor or memorialize a beloved pet, family member, or entire family. We work closely with every donor to create a unique dedication that is meaningful and special.

This opportunity provides a lasting tribute in a serene setting, allowing memories to live on while supporting the mission of the Grand Strand Humane Society.

Our new facility will be surrounded by stunning landscaping featuring dozens of majestic statement trees—Live Oaks, Southern Magnolias, Weeping Willows, River Birches, and Laurel Leaf Oaks—creating a welcoming and serene environment for visitors, staff, and animals alike.

For our “green-thumbed” supporters, we are pleased to offer the opportunity to sponsor one or more of these magnificent trees. Each sponsored tree will be honored with a personalized engraved plaque placed at its base, commemorating the name of a beloved person or pet.
